I was reading comments and some people are criticizing manipulation of Mike's penis but here I want to mention using photoshop is not kidding. Photoshop is like canvas and one of amazing tool of creativity. It not thing for everybody. People easily say bad things to photographers for using photoshop but same people feel amazing for VFX movies. This is amazing what Petter did in these photos. A final photo should be ready masterpiece of art and Petter know it how to do.

I really wish that these member's profiles had the age listed next to them. that would tell me what generation you are from, and I could provide more fitting responses. but let me start by saying that I spent the first 10 years of my 30 years career as a photographer in the darkroom. the darkroom was our photoshop. we did amazing things in the dark, incredible manipulations and transformations, and when we really needed to alter or enhance looks we had to draw/airbrush on the prints, reproduce them (repro photography) and reprint them, a process that could go on for weeks. I recall when I was working for richard avedon in nyc back in the early 90's, he had artists come in and draw on his photographs, which we photographed and reprinted, and this could go on for up to a 5-6 rounds til he was happy with the result. it was today's version of photoshop's layers. photoshop is an amazing creative tool. the execution is flawless in these images. can you please pin point where you see poor execution ? and there is nothing shameful about using photoshop to underline a message. and yes, I have underlined his cock to create some super sexual powerful images. take your time, view each image in full screen, feel the raw power. to me as a visual artist it just blew my mind when I saw the effect it had. not sure if I answered your question, but there you go. best. ph

Hi Mr Hegre, as you have suggested, I just have downloaded the highest solution of your images and to my amazement I could guess your perception of raw power. At least at a first glance. But finally your photos can‘t bear no close examination, because the execution in these images indeed is all but flawless. I‘m not speaking of any mistakes you could have made using photoshop, I couldn‘t find any. No, I‘m speaking of the result. Photoshop still can’t adopt the microstructure of surfaces in enlarged details in correspondence to the surrounding. The downside of your excellent photo quality is, that the critical eye finally must stumble upon the enlarged pores and hairs and foremost tiny folds of ball sack skin in comparison to adjacent skin patches, whereupon at least my logical mind can only gather more proof of spuriousness. The illusion instead is gone like for everyone who has once noticed the split second when the hidden ropes lifted Superman‘s cape. Never mind! ;-)

From my point of view - btw in my late fifties and fully okay with artistically minded photo enhancing - I still can‘t see any sense in enlarging male genitalia in nudes. If you‘d taken awesome shots from unusual angles and had removed any spots of bother, I would have been fine, but a horse-like penis with the thickness of a forearm - what for? Even with the best and flawless photo editing it means the absolute opposite of Tantra and Taoism to me. Your model is already well endowed and blessed with an also pretty member. I only hope you don‘t get too excited about your photoshop skills and will start to enlarge breasts and nipples or perhaps even vaginas or labias too. After all I would really, really appreciate to have at least the choice to get the originally sized photos. But as long as you don‘t make these „enhancements” the new standard, I‘m fully okay with experiments, never mind that I nevertheless don‘t like these results at all. It's interesting. It's well-done (no surprise). Judgement requires longer looking, at full-size images. I am curious what will come with Part 2. I greatly appreciate Petter's responses to the comments here. Thank you. The "Tom of Finland" look is stylistically narrow and easy to spot. I am not sure I see it here — but I suppose that would represent copying, which is a cheap form of tribute. The questions I have are: Why now? and Why "Tom of Finland"? Any beyond-real photo-manipulation violates one of the understood but unstated "rules" of Hegre-Art: the appearance of cool, unwavering objectivity — what I think of as "The aestheticization of facts". That rule is a bit of a contract between the artist and the viewer (and, as mentioned in the comments, something of an actual contract between the artist and purchasers). Violating this stylistic rule — even parenthetically, as a "Tribute" — does some damage to Hegre-Art. It doesn't taste right. That's not a comment about these images — I like them and think they are funny — I personally conclude that they don't belong on Hegre-Art. They are visually similar, but perceptually and psychologically so different as to require their own relationship with viewers and buyers. Imho, the additional copyright is inelegant — it intrudes on the image. Is it possible tonuse some form of digital, invisible, signing of the files?
